State Laser Run, Triathle & Obstacle Laser Run Championships & OLR Series #7 Final Event 

This is a great opportunity for those new to Modern Pentathlon to come and get a feel for some of the MP pathway sports. Even though this is a State event, athletes of all levels are welcome to come and get involved.   

The Events

Laser Run: Athletes run from the start line to their designated shooting bay, where they aim to hit 5 greens or after 50 seconds, athletes run a lap before shooting again. Distances and age groups below.

Triathle: is the same as laser run, except after your last shoot, you jump into the pool to swim, before running your final lap.

Obstacle Laser Run (OLR): Is a dynamic new pathway sport of Modern Pentathlon and adds an obstacle course race onto the Laser Run event, making it more physically demanding and exciting.

Event Formats

Laser Run - mixed surfaces may include grass, asphalt, gravel

Triathle - continuous format, using an indoor pool

Obstacle Laser Run (OLR) uses the same format for the Laser Run section as above and includes an Obstacle Course: 8 obstacles - typically including steps, rings, over-under-through, wheels, monkey bars, finish wall on a 70m course.

Ages are calculated as current year – birth year, I.e. 2025-2014=11, which is Under 13 (not Under 11). Athletes can compete in any distance but are only eligible for Awards at or above their age, i.e. an under 13 athlete is eligible to win under 15 category if they choose to enter it, but not eligible for awards if they enter as under 11.
Entry:
•   Special price - $100 per athlete - Championship Trifecta: Laser Run, Triathle & OLR (inc. OLR series final) •    $30 per athlete Laser Run Championship only.
•    $45 per athlete Triathle Championship only. 
•    $50 per athlete Obstacle Laser Run (OLR) Championship only.

All athletes must be a member of a Modern Pentathlon Organisation - this can be a Trialist membership of Modern Pentathlon Victoria which allows you to compete in most Modern Pentathlon events in Australia for 3months. (Trialist membership can be upgraded to a Full membership at the end of the 3mths)
